Sonya Byrd

I am a believer of Jesus Christ, a wife to my partner in life Shane and a mother of three amazing girls. I enjoy teaching Matwork (Christian Yoga), Paddleboarding, coaching cheerleading for Mooresville Youth Association, spending adventurous time with my family and volunteering at my church, The Bridge. My past experiences are being the Youth Ministry Coordinator at The Bridge Church, leading children’s ministries programs and I was the School Age Director at the Lowe’s YMCA. Although I have my Bachelor’s in Business Administration, much of my professional experience has been leading groups of people that mentor, lead, teach and love children. To see a child grasp a skill or task at hand and the assurance that the students of The Bridge Academy will know who created them and loves them, Jesus Christ, is what inspires me.

Robyn Zwilnske

My husband, Joe and I are originally from New York City, moving to Mooresville in 2010, and simply love living here. It is a great place to raise a family. We have 2 daughters, Isabella and Madison, who has attended the Bridge Academy since she is 2. We also have 2 dogs, Austin & Brownie and a cat named Bailey.
We are a strong Christian family that believes that our Heavenly Father is present in all aspects of our daily lives. We are active members of St Therese Church.
I have been in the education field for 16 years, 5 of those years I’ve been at the Bridge Academy. I have several years of experience and training in Early Childhood education and childhood psychology. In my spare time I enjoy spending it with my family. I enjoy watching my girls grow and learn more and more every day. One of my favorite hobbies is reading.

Tina Foskey

My name is Tina Foskey. I am the Transitional Kindergarten Teacher for Bridge Academy in Mooresville, North Carolina.

I attended Trevecca Nazarene College in Nashville, Tennessee, where I met my husband (years ago). I graduated from Western Carolina University in Cullowhee, North Carolina with a major in sociology and a minor in social work. I have taken continuing education classes on early childhood education through The Iredell County Partnership for Young Children, online classes through Scholastic and classes at Education Express.

I began teaching preschool when my children were in high school. As a preschool teacher I taught in the two year old class for 3 years and the four year old class for 8 years. I enjoy watching your children get excited about learning and growing. It is an honor to be a part of their life and learning. It is especially exciting to see their growth from the beginning to the end of the year. As Transitional Kindergarten students they will learn kindergarten skills as well as sight words and reading.

Shannon Massi Yuri

Hi! My name is Shannon Massi Yuri and I’m very excited to be a part of The Bridge Academy! My husband and I have three children. Our oldest is in elementary school and our twins are in one of the preschool classes. I moved to Mooresville when I was a 7 years old and lived here until going off to Gardner-Webb University where I received a Bachelor of Arts in Communications. I knew that God really wanted me to work with children and continued my education and received a Masters in Elementary Education from Gardner-Webb. After receiving my bachelor’s degree, I met my husband and we were married a year later in Argentina, where we lived for five years. Because of this, I am able to speak some Spanish, as well as our children. We have been back in Mooresville since August 2015 and have enjoyed getting to meet so many new people.

I asked Jesus to come into my heart as a little girl during Vacation Bible School at the church I grew up in. So many wonderful people poured into me there and I first started to work with children there as a young teen. We are members of Christ Community Church Mooresville and I am one of the two and three year old teachers on Sunday mornings and my husband is a drummer on the praise team.

I have spent many years working with children, whether it was in church nursery, day camps I was a counselor for, being a teacher’s assistant while working on my Masters degree, and by being a mother. I am very excited to be a 4 year old teacher at The Bridge Academy! This is such an exciting time in their lives as many of them have this year left before starting elementary school. We are going to play and learn and get prepared for their futures!
